I wanted to try Shuttle Knotting and found that no suitable tools existed, so I designed my own based on historical measurements and designs.
Knotting shuttles are a tool for creating intricate knots along a thread for use in embroidery or clothing trim. It was very popular with upper-class ladies of the 1700's and even royalty. Knotting is the precursor to tatting and movement-wise it is very similar to tatting and easy to pick up for those who know how to tat.
For more information there are a couple of deep dive videos on the subject of knotting on my Youtube channel.
The shuttles are hand-sanded and smoothed for a snag-free knotting experience. Some shuttles have a layer of matte varnish for longevity and to protect the design.
